Fabric is very lightweight and comfortable but will not offer support unless buying a size too small or a tight fit counts as support. They look more old and worn out right out of the package. I wish they didn’t lighten and washout so much color from the rear end as that give the appearance of looking bigger in the butt - why do they accentuate the butt?! No shape or slimming effects on this style - a “straight 8 Marilynn”. Not the slimming effect offered by other styles, it boasts maximum stretch and it does “give” a lot, so I hope they will not stretch out from regular wear. I think going down another size might offer a better fit and shape, but they are comfy. I am usually an 8. I’m 5’8” and the length is perfect before washing. The jury is still out on keeping shape and washing. I’d only buy these at a really low price since they don’t do anything flattering through the hips and thighs.I don't know how they do it but I'm so impressed with the comfort of these jeans. They do tend to run large, and it even tells you to order one size smaller than the size you usually wear. My problem is I'm never sure if I'm a 6 or a 4, so I went ahead and ordered the 4. And of course I could have and probably should have been in a 2. But, they are just a little loose, mostly around the waist and butt area, so I'm going to keep them anyway. They look great and feel even better than they look. One word of caution: The dye in the jeans has a tendency to rub off a little on other fabrics the first one or two times you wear them. Just be cautious about this until you've washed them a couple of times.The Jean fits large in the waist area and is very long. Having alterations made to bring the hem up 5 inches! I also bought the same pair online in Dark Blue at Bloomingdale's.com and it's the same issue. I think it's the extra stretch in the material. Going to have both pairs washed and see if it helps. Love this brand of Jean and have many pairs in different colors. Marilyn style is my favorite. This is a 5 star brand but due to the large fit, I gave it a 4 this time.I am an absolute fan of NYDJ, but these jeans were very long on me for some reason. I went back to look at my order and I did not request tall and the tag does not say they should be long. Going to chalk this up to the style and probably go buy them at the brick and mortar store next time so I can avoid the hassle of a return.These are great jeans in terms of fabric and comfort. But I have tried every size in several "categories" and they are too big in the waist. I finally settled and will spend the money to alter them. It is very confusing trying to sort out a Marilyn from a Monrovia etc. Why all the styles? No clue what they all are and how they differ. So it's a crap shoot.These jeans are very soft and comfortable. However, I am disappointed that they don't hold their shape. After and hour or two of wear, they stretch out, bag and sag, and don't look nearly as nice as they do when I first put them on. They were long when they came, so I hemmed them. They are comfortable, but not the look I was hoping for.These are a tad loose on me, which I blame the material for. I own other pairs of NYDJ jeans in the same size that are a more substantial material and fit much better. This pair is thin and light weight, which is normally not troubling, but I've noticed that threads get pulled much more obviously and frequently with this pair in comparison to my other NYDJ pants.Fit is very good. Material is very soft and comfortable. Doesn’t feel like jean material. Don’t know how they will hold up. It’s the most I have ever spent on a pair of jeans.Nice comfortable cut/fit, but super thin stretchy denim that starts wearing out after three washes. More like cheap leggings than jeans. The front of the thighs are already 'fuzzy', and for the money I expected a bit more quality.Perfect fit..absolutely love the Sure Stretch denim....it stretches more so is amazingly comfortable...thank you NYDJ!The stretch material works well.
