I purchased these overalls for garden landscaping and 'heavy' handy work around home. I ordered my true size and they fit well. I will add a note that I ordered tall because carhartt shrinks in length. Though these were so long I wasn't sure I had made the correct choice, they have since shrunk to the perfect length. I am 5' 6" tall. 115# and ordered xs (I normally wear xs or sm in tops and bottoms). Another advantage to ordering the tall is that the shoulder straps didn't have to be on the longest adjustment. There is room left to lengthen the straps if needed. This is an important feature since they are nicely fitted and not overly baggy/saggy in the crotch area. Having extra length in the straps insures the crotch can be adjusted to a comfortable length. However i will say that my xs-reg length are very comfortable and stretch out a bit, I did have to use all the room available in the shoulder strap in order for the crotch to be roomy. The quality of the fabric is great. Not as heavy-duty as the Carhartt Women's Original Fit Crawford Double Front Pant or overalls (I wear a 2 in the pant). Each has its purpose. The striped overall is soft and the double-front is hefty, very durable and takes a lot of abusive handy-work. The stripped fabric is lighter weight, but still durable, and by the way, is VERY reminiscent of my father's Railroad Engineer hat fabric from when I was a child in the 1960's. I would swear it was the same fabric! All in all - great choices, just wish I had purchased them years ago. (PS: the square shoulder clasps are much more awkward to deal with then the traditional round, but not a deal breaker for me.) The pockets are roomy, hold a large cell phone and accommodate tools, etc.
